My name is Liz. I’m retired and happy to give my time to help my community. And Fun Palace is for the community by the community! It’s great to be working with such an interesting and enthusiastic group of people. And at the actual event it is so inspiring to see people of all ages and backgrounds having fun and learning something new!
I help during the weekend in any way I can from moving chairs and tables to providing information to visitors. And before the weekend I help with organising and programming it all.
I’m surprised sometimes when people say they have not heard of Fun Palaces – but on the other hand, many people are coming back year after year! It’s sometimes a challenge to my energy levels, but the general buzz of enthusiasm and enjoyment energises me (and a piece of homemade cake from the Friends of the Library cafe helps!)
